I love the active stage in my khozmo shunt preamp, adds even more sound quality somehow, and useful for driving long runs of cable or a 2nd pair of rca to a subwoofer or minidsp. it’s easy to upgrade the opamp too, just triple check pin 1 orientation when installing it for safety. There’s an on/off toggle on the back that makes it easy to compare passive and active too. you can disable it if using 100db horns with high gain amps 🙂
